The ten yearly boiler examination for Joffre was due this year and early in November the boiler was moved from the West Lancashire Light Railway to a private workshop at Banks, near Southport. The tubes have been removed and the boiler has been thoroughly cleaned out for assessment of any repair work that will be necessary before it can re-enter service.
